Runway Pics of Betsey's Fall 2010 Collection at Fashion Week in New York

Above are pictures of Betsey Johnson's Fall 2010 runway highlights at Fashion Week in New York! Betsey’s inspiration this season is a “gunfight at the BJ Corral”, so saddle up Betsey Johnson fans, because it’s a Wild West sort of season in Betseyville! A gun-toting Kelly Osbourne opened the show, swaying her bustle coat down the hay-strewn runway. Lift your cowgirl hats up a bit and you will discover “gamblers”, followed by “robbers” and many more characters that were along for the ride on the Mercedes-Benz runway! Top looks that complete the collection include: Dice print onesie, Marilyn Monroe pop art dress, lace bolero over a purple patterned dress, and lots of crinoline. Accessories include: Hats adorned with birds, velvet bowties, suspenders, fishnets, bank robber- style eye masks and much more! The collection's color palette includes much black, purple, vibrant pink, and other colors that give the look a nice POP of personality and "whackiness" as Betsey likes to put it!

"Betsey's Brand NOW Compared to Then"

It is now the year 2010, and Betsey continues to strut new seasonal collections down the most popular runways all around the world. Her love for fashion and designing new and creative pieces full of detail and spunk have kept her at the forefront of fashion for the past 45 years with no signs of letting up anytime soon!

“Making clothes involves what I like…color, pattern, shape and movement…I like the everyday process…the people, the pressure, the surprise of seeing the work come alive walking and dancing around on strangers. Like red lipstick on the mouth, my products wake up and brighten and bring the wearer to life…drawing attention to her beauty and specialness…her moods and movements…her dreams and fantasies.” – Betsey Johnson

As one journalist recently quoted, “If Betsey Johnson didn’t exist, we would have to invent her, simply to remind ourselves that fashion can be fun. She’s the original wild child and set to paint the town pink!”

"Betsey's Brand History"

Betsey Johnson. We all know the name. We have seen her creative, whacky, indifferent, yet totally irresistible collection items strut down the most popular runways all around the world. Speaking for all fashion fanatics,[PAUSE], perhaps I need to rephrase that: Speaking for TRUE fashion fanatics, we all know the fashion icon: Betsey Johnson! She is cute, wild and never fails to be the top talk of most fashion shows. The question is: how did she get where she is today in the world of fashion? How bad do you want to know--bad or real bad? Either/or, continue reading to find out "Betsey's Brand History"!

After a decade of designing for various fashion labels, Betsey had an idea to open her own specialty store that ultimately became a reality to what we now know as: The Betsey Johnson label! In 1978 she formed a partnership with Chantal Bacon and started her label. Finally she was given the freedom to execute her fashion ideas to its fullest potential! The same year Betsey and Chantal launched their first retail store in the heart of Soho. In the early 80's, the duos opened another store in LA. Today there are over 65 Betsey Johnson stores worldwide. With a store in London, Vancouver, Toronto, Japan, Europe and Asia, I'd say the passion for fashion diva has come a long way toward international brand expansion!

In 2003, Betsey broadened her company with new categories including handbags and lingerie. Soon after, she continued this trend by adding footwear, belts, eyewear, watches, costume jewelry, swimwear, legwear, outerwear, and a fragrance. What had initially been labeled a "clothing collection" is now a top American Lifestyle Brand!
